How to play Word Wheel
Word Wheel is a 90-second word hunt built around nine letters. The wheel shows eight outer letters and one golden center letter — E — and every word you submit must be at least three letters long and must include that center letter. Letters can be reused, so short roots grow into long words. Each accepted word scores points equal to its length: a 4-letter word earns 4 points, a 7-letter word earns 7. A hidden pangram — a word using all nine letters — earns a 15-point bonus on top of its length. When the timer hits zero the round ends: reach 80 points to win, fall short and the wheel wins. Found words join your list, and your best score is saved in this browser.
Controls
- Keyboard: type letters to build your word, Backspace to delete, Enter to submit.
- Touch / Mouse: tap the letter buttons to add letters, then tap ✓ Submit. Use ⌫ Delete to fix mistakes and 🔀 Shuffle to rearrange the wheel.
- Enter or Space on the overlays starts a new round.
Tips & strategy
- Start with the center letter's favourite partners: RE-, EN-, ST- openings and -ER, -EST, -ES endings stretch short words into long ones. Plurals are free points too.
- Don't chase only long words. Three quick 4-letter words outscore one slow 8-letter word, and the clock is always running.
- Shuffle early and often. A fresh layout breaks your brain's pattern lock — and may reveal the pangram RELATIONS, worth 24 points.
