How to play Word Search Safari
Word Search Safari drops you into a 12×12 grid of letters where eight animal names are hiding in plain sight. The animals can lurk horizontally, vertically, or diagonally — and they can face forwards or backwards, so a word like TIGER might appear left-to-right or right-to-left. Your job is to track down all eight. The clock starts the moment you begin and keeps running until the last animal is found, so sharp eyes beat slow ones.
Controls
- Mouse: press and drag across the letters of a word, then release to check it.
- Touch: put your finger on the first letter and slide to the last one, then lift your finger.
- New Puzzle: the ↻ button shuffles a brand-new grid with fresh hiding spots.
Tips & strategy
- Start with the longest animals — ELEPHANT and CROCODILE are easier to spot because long letter runs stand out.
- Scan for unusual letters first: K, Z, X, and Q barely appear, so KANGAROO and ZEBRA give themselves away.
- When you find the first letter of a word, check all eight directions from it before moving on.
- Backwards words are the classic trap — if only one animal is missing, scan every line right-to-left and bottom-to-top.
- Found animals stay highlighted in green, so the shrinking grid actually gets easier as you go.
Scoring
