📋 Rule card — cut one wire per rule, top to bottom

How to play Wire Cutter
Wire Cutter is a bomb-defusal logic game where brains beat luck. Every bomb carries 4 to 6 colored wires and a numbered rule card. Each rule points at exactly one safe wire — but only the first rule whose condition is true tells you what to cut first. Work down the card: evaluate rule 1, snip its wire, then evaluate rule 2 against the original wire layout, and so on until every rule is satisfied and the bomb is defused. Cut the wrong wire, or let the timer hit zero, and the bomb explodes — mission over. Survive and the next bomb arrives with more wires, more rules, and less time on the clock.
Controls
- Mouse / Touch: tap or click the wire you want to snip. Wires are numbered 1 to 6 from left to right to match rule references.
- Keyboard: press keys 1–6 to cut the matching wire. Press Enter or Space on the overlays to start a new mission.
Tips & strategy
- Read the whole card before touching anything. "Otherwise" rules are fallbacks — they only fire when every rule above them is false.
- Wire numbers never change mid-bomb, even after a snip. A cut wire just stays grayed out; positions don't shift, so "wire 3" always means wire 3.
- Serial number parity (even vs odd) and exact color counts are the most common rule conditions — count slowly, one mistake ends the run.
- Rule text always mirrors the bomb in front of you: if a rule says "cut wire 5" but there are only 4 wires, that bomb will never be generated — every card is guaranteed solvable.
- Later bombs give less time but the same logic — trust the card, don't rush the last ten seconds. Most explosions come from hurrying, not from hard rules.
Scoring
Each correct wire snip earns 100 points, and every fully defused bomb adds a 250-point bonus. There is no scoring for partial logic — only live bomb technicians get paid. Your best mission score is saved in this browser and shown next to your current run.
