How to play Vault Cracker
Vault Cracker is a safe-cracking puzzle. Behind the steel door hides a secret combination of three numbers, each between 0 and 39. Your only tools are a precision dial and a heat sensor that sniffs how close your current number is to the real one. Spin the dial and watch the meter climb from freezing ❄️ COLD through 🌡️ WARM to blazing 🔥 HOT, then slam TRY NUMBER. A correct guess clicks a tumbler into place with a satisfying 🔓; a wrong guess trips the alarm and burns 10 seconds. You have 120 seconds — crack all three tumblers before it hits zero.
Controls
- Mouse / Touch: drag the big dial left or right to spin it, or press and hold the ◀ ▶ buttons to spin fast. Click TRY NUMBER to test the current number.
- Keyboard: ← and → nudge the dial one number at a time; Enter submits your guess.
Tips & strategy
- The meter measures circular distance, so 39 sits right next to 0 — don't stop spinning at the dial's edges.
- Sweep slowly through the HOT zone; when the meter pins at 🔥 HOT, walk one number at a time.
- Wrong guesses cost 10 seconds each, so trust the meter instead of spamming TRY NUMBER.
- Hold a spin button to fly across the dial, then release and fine-tune with taps or arrow keys.
Scoring
Your score is (seconds remaining × 10) minus (wrong guesses × 5), never below zero. A clean crack with no misses and a minute to spare scores big — your best score is saved in this browser, so chase the perfect run.
