🌀 Portal Panic
How to play Portal Panic
Portal Panic is an aim-and-launch puzzle spread across 8 hand-designed levels. A cannon sits at a fixed spot in each level, and your job is to collect every star before your launches run out. Pull back anywhere on the playfield like a slingshot — an arrow shows your direction and power — and release to fire the ball. The ball bounces off walls and barriers, and diving into an orange portal teleports it out of the linked blue portal with its speed intact, which lets you reach stars no straight shot could ever touch. Touch every star to clear the level. When the ball rolls to a stop, it reloads back into the cannon as long as you have ammo left; run out of launches with stars still on the board and the level is failed — but you can retry as many times as you like.
Controls
- Mouse: press and drag anywhere to aim (pull back like a slingshot), release to launch.
- Touch: touch and drag anywhere on the playfield, then lift your finger to fire.
- Keyboard: ← / → rotate the aim, ↑ / ↓ adjust power, Space launches. Enter or Space on the overlays starts, continues, or retries.
Tips & strategy
- Portals preserve your speed, not your worries — a fast ball through a portal keeps flying, so use them to cross the whole map in one shot.
- Bank shots are free travel. Bouncing off a wall costs almost no speed, so plan two-bounce routes instead of forcing one risky straight line.
- Spend your first launch scouting. A gentle test shot reveals how the ball behaves around the level's barriers before you commit your real attempts.
- Chain portals on later levels: entering one portal pair often lines you up perfectly for the next — look for the relay route.
Scoring
There is no timer — the score is efficiency. Each level shows how many launches you used, and the final screen totals your stars and launches across all 8 levels. Clearing levels in fewer launches is the real bragging right.
