How to play
Pixel Painter is a paint-by-numbers challenge. A small target picture is shown beside a blank 12×12 grid. Your job: recreate the target exactly — right color, right cell — then press Grade my painting to be scored on accuracy. Score 90% or better to pass the pattern and move on to the next one. Pass all three patterns to win.
Controls
- Mouse: click a color in the palette, then click or drag across the grid to paint.
- Touch: tap a color, then drag your finger across the grid — painting works with multi-touch drags.
- Keyboard: press 1–9 to pick a color, 0 for the eraser. Press G to grade, C to clear the canvas, Enter to start.
Tips & strategy
- Paint the background last: fill in the big empty areas with the eraser first, then the colored shapes — fewer strokes, fewer mistakes.
- Work color by color instead of row by row: finish every red cell, then switch to blue. It's faster and you miss fewer spots.
- Count pixels along tricky edges — the grade compares every single cell, so one wrong pixel on a border can matter.
- You get 3 graded tries per pattern. If a grade lands at 88%, zoom your eyes to the edges — the misses are almost always there.
Scoring
Accuracy = correct cells ÷ 144 total cells. Passing a pattern needs 90% or more (at least 130 correct cells). Your best single-grade accuracy is saved in this browser.
