How to play

Nonogram Quest is a picture-cross logic puzzle: a hidden image waits inside the grid, and the number clues along the top and left edge are your only tools. Each clue lists the runs of filled squares in that row or column — a "3 1" means a block of 3 filled cells, a gap of at least one empty cell, then a single filled cell. Fill every correct cell and the picture reveals itself. Three puzzles grow in size and trickiness: a friendly 5×5 heart, a 10×10 rocket, and a 10×10 crown.

Controls

• Fill mode: click or tap a cell to fill it. Right-click a cell to place an X mark directly (desktop).
• Mark X mode: tap the ❌ Mark X button, then tap cells you have proven empty — X's never count as mistakes.
• Keyboard: F = fill mode, X = mark-X mode, R = restart puzzle, 1–3 = switch puzzle.
• Switch puzzles anytime with the 1 / 2 / 3 buttons above the board.

Tips & strategy

• Start with the biggest clues: a "10" in a 10-wide row means the whole row fills; a "9" pins down the middle 8 cells either way.
• X out what a clue proves empty — narrowing the grid is half the battle, and X marks are free.
• Cross-reference: when a row clue forces a cell, check what that implies for its column clues.
• Never guess when a deduction exists. With only 3 mistakes allowed, patience beats luck.

Scoring

Each solved puzzle scores 100 points minus 15 per mistake (minimum 25). Clear all three puzzles for a perfect 300 — your best total is saved in this browser. Failing a puzzle (3 mistakes) scores nothing for that attempt.
