🌀 Maze Chase
How to play
Maze Chase is a pac-man-style arcade chase: you steer the yellow muncher through a winding maze, gobbling up every golden dot. Two red chasers patrol the corridors and hunt you down — if one catches you, you lose a life. You have 3 lives per run. Clear all the dots in the maze to move to the next level, where the chasers get faster and an extra hunter joins the pack. There is no final boss and no end to the levels — it is a pure survival run against the clock of your own mistakes.
Controls
- Arrow keys / WASD: steer the muncher up, down, left and right on desktop. You can press a new direction slightly before a junction and the muncher will turn the moment it reaches it.
- Swipe: on phones and tablets, swipe in the direction you want to go.
- Your muncher keeps moving in its current direction until it hits a wall, so plan your turns one junction ahead.
Tips & strategy
- The chasers are slightly slower than you at level 1, but they cut corners well. Never run down a dead-end corridor if a chaser is behind you — you will have nowhere to turn.
- Chasers pick the corridor that looks closest to you at every junction. Fake them out: charge toward a chaser, then duck into a side corridor at the last junction so they overshoot.
- Clear the long straight corridors first. They hold the most dots and give you the longest sightlines to spot chasers coming.
- After losing a life you get a short grace period while the chasers are frozen — use it to reposition near the center of the maze where you have the most escape routes.
- Save the tight corner pockets for last. They are dangerous, but by then there are fewer dots left to tempt you into a chaser's path.
Scoring
Every dot is worth 10 points, so a full maze clear is a serious score on its own. Points are the only score that matters — there is no timer, so a careful, methodical clear beats a panicked sprint. Survive to higher levels and the chasers speed up, but so does the bragging potential of your score. Lose all 3 lives and the run ends: hit Start and chase that high score again.
