About Lighthouse Guide
A wild storm has blown out every buoy on the coast, and a dozen ships are drifting blind toward a reef of jagged rocks. You are the keeper of the last working lighthouse, and your beam is the only thing standing between those crews and the seabed. Lighthouse Guide is a calm-but-tense steering game: there is no way to push a ship directly โ you sweep your beam across the dark water, and the moment a ship sails into the light, its captain sees the way home and turns for the harbor mouth. The skill is in the sweep: covering new ships while keeping an eye on the ones already running for port.
How to play
Rotate your lighthouse beam with the โ and โ arrow keys (or A/D), or simply point with your mouse or finger and the beam aims straight at it. Ships sail in from the right, drifting left toward the rocks. The instant your beam touches a ship, it is guided โ it turns and sails for the harbor at the bottom-left corner, glowing as it goes. Each ship that reaches the harbor mouth scores 100 points plus a speed bonus for finishing the night quickly. But watch the reef: any ship that touches a rock is wrecked, costing you one of your 3 hull-salvage chances. Ships that drift off the left edge are simply lost to the fog โ no points, no penalty. Guide 8 of the 12 ships into the harbor to save the night; lose 3 ships to the rocks and it is over.
Controls
- Keyboard: โ/โ or A/D sweep the beam up and down the coast.
- Mouse / touch: move or drag anywhere on the water โ the beam aims directly at your pointer.
- Buttons: the Sweep Left / Sweep Right buttons hold-rotate the beam for touch players who prefer not to drag.
Tips & strategy
- Sweep the right edge first โ ships are easiest to catch the moment they sail in, before they reach the reef.
- One touch is enough: a guided ship stays guided, so keep sweeping for new ships instead of babysitting.
- Guided ships sail straight for the harbor โ check their line; if it crosses a rock, you may need to light them earlier next time.
- Ships near the bottom of the sea have the longest run to the harbor โ catch them early or they will beat the rocks to the reef.
Scoring
Each guided ship that reaches the harbor is worth 100 points, plus a speed bonus of up to 600 points for finishing the night fast (5 points per second under the 2-minute par). Save all 8 required ships to win the night. Your best score is saved on your device โ then go beat it with a cleaner sweep.
