How to play
Block Drop is a race against gravity on a 10-wide, 20-tall well. Seven classic block shapes — the long bar, the square, the T, the two zigzags and the two L-hooks — tumble down one at a time. Slide each piece into place and rotate it so the rows pack tight: every completely filled row clears and scores, and every 10 lines the level rises and the blocks fall faster. The run ends when the stack reaches the top. Your best score is saved in your browser, so every run is a shot at a new record.
Controls
- Keyboard: ← / → move, ↓ soft drop, ↑ rotate, Space hard drop, C hold piece, P pause, Enter start.
- Touch: the big on-screen buttons do everything — move, rotate, soft drop, instant drop, hold and pause.
- Hold: stash the current piece for later (once per piece) — perfect for saving the long bar for a four-line slam.
Tips & strategy
- Keep the stack flat and leave a single one-cell well on one side — that is where the long bar scores a four-line clear worth 800 × level points.
- Do not chase a perfect setup forever; at higher levels the drop speed punishes hesitation. A safe single line beats a greedy collapse.
- Use Hold early: if the piece you need is not coming, stash an awkward S or Z and take the next one.
- Soft drop earns 1 point per cell and hard drop 2 per cell — dropping fast is literally free score.
- Watch the Next preview and plan two pieces ahead; the best players never place a piece without knowing what follows it.
Scoring
Single line: 100 × level. Double: 300 × level. Triple: 500 × level. Four lines at once: 800 × level. Level up every 10 cleared lines, up to level 10, with the fall speed rising each time.
